Introduction

One of my greatest joys in life is my volunteer work. I volunteer at a detention center, where I teach young men coping skills, how to identify their triggers, and how to use their strengths to navigate trauma. This work is more than just service—it’s a testament to how personal growth can transform negativity into purpose. I draw from my own life experiences, therapy, and my social work education to support their healing journey.
Over the years, I’ve relied on a variety of coping tools—journaling, poetry, working out, and mindfulness meditation. While these may not work for everyone, they’ve made a significant difference in my life. In upcoming posts, I’ll dive deeper into how each has helped me grow and stay grounded.
