Mental Monday

If these tears could speak, they would say…

July 7, 2025

Life is going to happen, and when life happens, there are only a few things I can control: my emotions, my reactions, and my mindset about the situation. It has taken me years to grasp this concept. I’ve learned that while it’s okay to be mad at things, it’s not okay to dwell on them endlessly. There is a light at the end of each tunnel, and we must keep moving forward. Some tunnels may be longer than others, but if you keep walking, you will eventually get there.

Our mind is one of, if not the most powerful, things about us. If you are negative and fearful, you will be stagnant. However, if you are positive and believe in yourself, you are more likely to keep pushing and take life’s challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. That’s how I choose to continue to live. While I may forget sometimes and fall back into old habits, I remember that I am not my latest obstacle, and I have overcome much worse than what I am currently going through. It can be rough to keep moving and staying strong. The pastor at my church once said, “God does His best work in dark places,” and whew, was he right.
