Who Invented the 40-Hour Work Week!

So, when I was leaving the Navy, I remember all my mentors and supervisors being on my case about having this “grand plan” for the future. Every day, someone would ask, “Bradley, what are you going to do when you get out?”

My answer? “Be a bum.”

Because honestly, I didn’t want to do a dang thing. My immediate post-military life was simple: get up, eat, hit the gym, and watch my soap operas. And that’s EXACTLY what I did. I had planned it out for years—saved just enough so I wouldn’t have to work for two whole years.

Fast forward to now, I’m back in the workforce, sitting at my desk, wondering, “Who the hell invented the 5-day, 40-hour work week?”

I thought the Navy was exhausting, but THIS? This is WILD and should be against the law!

Whoever came up with this schedule, disrespectfully: your momma a hoe, and I hope you stub your toe. LOL

And don’t even get me started on leave. You mean to tell me we get leave in HOURS and not DAYS? Lawd hammercy. I have to wait two months to get two days of leave time. WOW!!!!!!
